The Miss Miami Gardens Scholarship Pageant is affiliated with the Miss America Organization and is mandated by the rules of that system. To compete in this pageant you must meet the following criteria.
- Must be a female by birth
- Never before competed in any National Finals of the Miss America Organization
- Must be at least seventeen (17) years of age and no older than twenty-four (24) on July 1, 2010
- Must reside in the City of Miami Gardens; or attend high school, or enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university in the City of Miami Gardens.
- Must be a Citizen of the United States
- Must be a high school graduate or have successfully completed the G.E.D. testing program for high school equivalency or have completed the academic requirements for entry into a four-year college/university degree program by July 31, 2010 immediately preceding the local pageant.
- Have never been married
- Have never been pregnant
- Must not be the adoptive parent of any child
- Never have been convicted of any criminal offense
- Must not have any criminal charges presently pending
- Must be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth by the City of Miami Gardens
- Must be in good health and can participate fully and without limitation in any program activities
- Must not use or consume/abuse any illegal controlled dangerous substances or alcohol or other dangerous substances
- Should not have any website with public display of nudity/obscenity that is determined inappropriate by the City
